#6 – I Sense a Recurring Theme Here…

Not only is this comic sort of an outlet for me, as in it lets me draw things on a regular basis, but it also allows me to try out new things! Specifically, in this comic, drawing backgrounds. Its a work in progress. u_u;

I’ve been fortunate to live in areas with less than the usual amount of congestion and over-crowdedness, but also close enough to stores that I don’t have to drive for an hour to get what I need. Where I used to live, before we moved here about 10 years ago now, was like living in a forest. Literally. Not the whole area mind you, but there were a lot of trees. And even though you didn’t see too many people walking the streets (besides the occasional jogger), it still gave the feeling that you weren’t completely out in the middle of nowhere, or completely alone. It was a nice, peaceful feeling. So, I’ve tried to bring some of that feeling and atmosphere to the comic here. We’ll see how it turns out. :)

    While perhaps not intentional… I like the fact that the backgrounds seem a bit rough/simplistic.. Hear me out! I do think they look great, but part of that is because they help denote the way the town-tour is going… Kyle just speeding FW through the “boring” things to get back to the restaurants. ;)

    I hope Kyle’s paying for himself, too! Otherwise FW might be going broke by the end of the tour!

    lol Kyle. In that third panel, the sign on the window reads “mari”. The “v” is missing.
