Ask Mouse #12
This week we’re revisiting the very first Ask Mouse! Why? Because, at the time, I only gave people 24 hours to give an answer.
So, this week’s topic is: Food, part 2!
Go ahead and peek back at part one to see what questions were already asked and answered. If the question wasn’t answered, chances are it was asked after the deadline. So, since we’re revisiting it, you’re free to ask whatever!
If you hadn’t noticed, it seems that we’re really running slim on topics, already revisiting one that we did once before. Not that this is a bad thing, but we really need your help! Head on over to the forums, it’s fast, easy, and free to sign up, and family friendly! There’s lots going on and stuff able to discuss with fellow fans of the comic, including various rumors and speculation about future comics. Also, there’s a whole section dedicated to suggesting topics for Ask Mouse! Did I also mention that Wil, the comic’s artist, is putting up special “behind the scenes” artwork for registered members of the forum only? That’s totally cool! So you should go check them out.

Why don’t you like cheese?

Have you ever bitten into a straight hunk of cheese? It gets all gooey and melty and mushy and coats every bit of the inside of your mouth and the taste overpowers your tongue and makes your eyes water and stuff. It’s not a good experience.

This line of questioning has nothing to do with food.

I don’t like most seafood (shrimp and such) there are a couple that I like, like the aforementioned shark, lobster, and calamari.

I dunno, I think it’s mostly a texture thing, calamari just has an interesting texture and stuff.
I looooooove spicy food, habanero stuff is the best!

Did you like it?
WHERE did you have SHARK?
Reply
Mouse Reply:

Yes.
It was alright, from what I’ve heard I had one of the worst kinds of sushi.
I don’t remember! It was years ago.

If it was from the super market, then yes, it was the worst kind >.>… Good sushi is AMAZING, and if you thought “the worst kind” was alright… then you might actually like the good kind.
And how can you not remember? It’s SHARK! It’s not like you get to eat it every day! I mean… seems like the kind of thing I’d remember eating =P

It was at a very well done Japanese restaurant, but I had tuna sushi, which isn’t all that good, or so I’ve heard.
I don’t remember, because it was a long, long time ago. Mice have short memory spans.

Is there any food that makes you so energetic you’re practically bouncing off the walls (such as coffee)?

Mouse Reply:

All sorts of sweets make me giddy. I wouldn’t say bouncing off the walls, that sounds like it’d hurt.

Are there any flavors you could find yourself never putting together? People give me weird looks when I dip chicken nuggets in honey to eat ‘em.
Reply
Mouse Reply:
September 2nd, 2009 at 10:52 pm
Hehe, that’s not even that odd! I think McDonald’s used to serve honey as an option for their chicken nugget dip.
The weird ones are the people that dip their french fries in milkshake, or eat potato chips with ketchup.
Me, I just like whatever, I can’t think of a particularly odd one. Oh other than cheese, peanut butter, and mustard sandwiches. I don’t typically like cheese or mustard, but that combination is just weird and works, somehow.

I’ve done cheese and peanut butter before as a kid. It was an interesting combo.
And they sell cheese and peanut butter crackers, so it can’t be that uncommon, right?

Mouse Reply:

I think it’s more that the mustard is added in that makes it odd. Peanut butter and cheese and crackers is really good too though, makes a great bed time snack.

You don’t like cheese, but you do like cheesecake, which is made with a certain kind of cheese?

Cheesecake is typically made of cream cheese, which is actually a lot lighter and sweeter than the taste of most cheese. Hence why someone can dislike cheese and still enjoy cheesecake and cream cheese (both of which I do enjoy).

About the cheese: Are you sure you aren’t just trying to avoid a stereotype? Some subconscious idea that most mice like cheese so you shouldn’t?
*Gets all Freudian on you.*

Even if I was, that’s an incorrect stereo type. I prefer bass myself. Even so, mice like peanut butter more than cheese!
I call foul! Or fraud, or whatever you said!

it’s true… cheese is a stereotype put on mice by… what… cartoons? And that is definitely not what we’re talking about here… we’re talking about food, not cartoons!
Actually, Mice like oats, at least… they’ll EAT oats, whether they like them or not is a different question…
