#119 – Try Doing This When Someone Questions You!

No, really, go ahead and try it! It’d go something like this:

“Hey! Who took my last cookie?”
“Who did take it? In fact, who are we to say that we own anything? In the grand scheme of things…”

Or maybe this:

“What are you drawing over there?”
“That’s a good question. I think a better one is how we recognize that such random, 2 dimensional lines and curves on a pice of paper as anything other than a jumble of graphite and ink! In fact, that brings up another point, because…”

You see where I’m going with this, right? :P Its guaranteed to get anybody off your back and leave you alone for a while…Or just get really upset, like my parents tend to do when I get “existential” on them, lol.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Mine was okay, but oooh, so much food… D:

I have trouble being existential like that, myself… There’s just so little real substance to the questions. XD Funny and silly comic, though. x3

I can only use that as a distraction against my friends. Unfortunately most of the people around me are so ignorant that I reserve my comments as a form of “The adults are speaking.” I usually speak similar style to Lex without that vocabulary of his. After I finish speaking to my brother he then says to me “ENGLISH!!! PLEASE!!!” I acquired my speech from my university economics professor who was English. I’ve not once heard him say uh’s and um’s. He usually takes a short unnoticeable pause and says things such as “Very well, moving on, and more.” I looked up to that and tried to adopt it myself (without adopting his english accent).

That’s impressive! Even when I try its hard not to say “Ah” or “um” at least once or twice. I once took a speech class where you got marked down based on the number of times you did that during a speech! Of course, some people could go up there and ramble on and on and on and not get marked down at all even though half of what they said was filler and didn’t even have anything to do with their overall speech! It was a frustrating class, lol.

I remember it, but only vaguely. It came on about the time when I stopped watching tons of TV, sadly.

Just as an aside, my friends and I noticed that the usage of the word buddy seems to be frequently used when people speak to someone they dont know. It usually isnt used with your friends. Typically you call them by name but rarely do you give them that identity. My personal experience I usually say “thanks man” to my friends but “thanks buddy” I say to a random stranger who helps me in some way. How does everyone else use the word “buddy?” Thats something to ponder.

See, I use buddy a lot for my friends, and I actually picked it up -from- them. Now if we’re talking about Wolverine, he calls most everyone he meets (that’s a guy anyway) “bud”, so I dunno. XD
