Haha, well what are you going to do if someone insists on calling you by your real name all the time? Though for me its usually the opposite, everyone calls me by a nickname they have for me.

And to think, in the previous panels, I thought FW, Damien, and Kyle were sitting in the back. So now FW and Bee have something in common. They both don’t like to be called by their actual first names. It could be a game of if you say my first name I’ll say yours.

Although two comics ago I think I made it look like they weren’t entirely in the back…Hehe, it could be a game of that! Though Bee probably wouldn’t like it too much.

33 IIRC, Frodo was like 33 and it was Bilbo’s 111th birthday which Bilbo made a point of in one of his “jokes” during the party by only having 12X12 seats laid out and pointing out that the sum of their years was “one gross” (144). then again, it’s been a while since reading the book so I could be wrong.

You may be correct, on this part, however, there’s also the fact that after Frodo receives the ring and is told to keep it hidden, that he does so, and the ring goes unnoticed for another 20 some odd years, until Gandalf returns and tells him he needs to head off.

Mouse is right! Though it was considered extremely rude to refer to a group of people (much less family) as a “gross”, because that was almost calling them things instead of people. Or something. But yeah, when he actually leaves The Shire he’s like 50 something. I think 52.
