The teacher wanted to show how reactive metallic Potassium is and was trying to chip a piece off. The Potassium rock went sliding across the counter and into the sink. Luckily, he was an excellent teacher so we evacuated through the door and windows really quick (lab is on the 1st floor). A few seconds later, part of the ceiling was missing.
