#65 – Forest no Scramble

I don’t know… XD I really couldn’t help myself though, lol. XD

Forest no Scramble! XD I’ve been waiting weeks to make this joke.

Whew this has been a long week! Midterms and papers and all sorts of things due, I’m glad I’ll (hopefully) be able to rest for a while. Except not because I want to get started on a bunch of stuff, lol. Ah well, the life of an artist is a busy one. Especially when your family and friends all want to do things with you during your free time. u.u; I’m sure I’ll figure it out someday.

I can safely say I didn’t expect such a reference.. But awesome. XD I love the seriousness too, as it just helps add a good level of importance to it..despite being a board game. x3 I always love that about anime. Be it about baking, board games, card games, or fighting with tops.. It’s always serious business. *nods!*

Thanks! Was hoping things would turn out well for it, since this is a much different style than I usually use. And I was trying to at least mimic Hikaru no Go’s style a little, which is hard to do when those characters aren’t, you know, animal people, lol.

Heheh, nice one! When my friends and I play games, we either goof off waaay too much, or we’re serious. This one makes Damien look a lot older than last comic… Cool! I’m looking forward to how this serious game of Scramble turns out… And what the bet was!

I wasn’t trying to make him look older, but he just turned out that way! Which works for the “serious” feel to the comic, so its all good then. I can usually do anime style easily, but its harder when trying to mix cartoonish characters with it, the results are a little unpredictable I guess.

I haven’t even read that far, lol. I did like the series though, just haven’t read it in a long while.

Ya know, I’ve heard of that series before, read a short description of it, and for a few months now, if I’m not thinking, that name will run through my head for hours over and over like a broken record. >.> Never seen it though!

Its fun to say at the very least! Hikaru no Go! I’ve never actually seen an episode of the anime, but I read the manga for a while.

Woah. Damien looks way too old… How long does this game last? They look like they could be in their upper teens! Sweetness! I like where this is going! And thank god our exam is over, huh Star? Damien’s eyes are amber! But manga is in black and white, so you can’t see that here cause I was trying to copy that sort of style. Hehe, and no, the game hasn’t been going that long, just that I guess “seriousness = older” so that’s why they turned out that way, lol.

You’ve got to watch out for those double and triple letter scores, especially when they have an X or K or something! D:

O.o that just went over my head… I honestly thought I went to the wrong website for a split second… I feel so dumb. Anyhow, very nice! And anime characters always look older unless they have really big eyes!

Oh! So that’s what I should have done…But the really big eyes would have distracted from the seriousness I think, which was what I was shooting for! Haha, and I’m glad the style looked so different that it seemed like a different comic, guess I pulled it off better than I thought.

Hmm, good question… :\ Is “Wolf” their last name, or is it just what they are? Though I think it’d be hilarious to have my last name be “Human” or something, but that’s just me.

Oh yeah, I remember watching the first few episodes of the anime of hikaru no go and I forgot about it. Now I am going to watch it again. Thanks for reminding me about it.

Gasp and alarm! A temporary switch in style to portray seriousness! But really, this reminds me of all the anime series where everyone’s shouting out all of their special attacks and such, and trying to make it seem more intense than it would in reality, but most people watching can’t help but feel embarassment for the poor voice actors who have to put up with it, or possibly be impressed by the voice actors ability to not break out laughing mid-sentence when shouting out their silly lines. Great comic, by the way.

You know, I’ve wanted to be a voice actor just because they get to shout silly and outrageous things at the top of their lungs, and get paid for it!

I do that now and no one gives me anything! :’(

He tipped his hat back slightly, glancing at the two hombres on either side of him. One of them, a skinny cow smuggler from down south of Pasadena, the other, a strong armed thug in the employment of the fine gang members who called this bar home and turned it into a den of thieves, robbers and worse.

Mr. Skinny finally piped up: “Your turn senor.”

He shifted in his seat, leaning back slightly to press one foot against the table leg, and slip his hand down to his waist, where his pistosl sat holstered at his side. He looked over his two cards, glanced at both of his opponents.

He set one green card down on the pile, his hand slowly moving away as the two hunched over to see. There was a blur of motion as he drew both pistols at once, kicking over the table and jumping to his feet in a flurry of rainbow colored cards, curses, and screams. All eyes stared at the brazen man, shocked.

“Uno. Draw two, amigos.”
